Transitions Marks
The stacked shape of Transitions Marks mimics the concept of a cairn, a man-made pile of stones, from prehistoric time to present used for many different purposes; from landmarks and burial monuments to ceremonial and astronomic purposes. In this case the stones are made from mycelium based material, much more alive and less durable than solid rocks. By exchanging the material in this archetypal pile, I hope to raise a reasonable doubt about the concept of static, and point out that everything is in flux, only the speed determines the difference.
Mycelium composite from Ganoderma Lucidum and hemp substrate

Made for and exhibited at JORDBUNDEN, Art Weekend Aarhus 2020 and now exhibited in our private front yard/forest garden for the winter, where they will slowly transform, due to natural processes of degradation.
