Passage Collection
Through an intuitive casting and construction process, of beeswax and aluminium, the idea of a passage for intangible matters is pursued in a collection of vessels.
Aluminium lamellas and fins are cast into beeswax in a mold of wet clay. A handheld process providing rough primitive surfaces, and blending machine precision with the manmade.
The assemblage of these two contrasting materials, allows an intuitive approach to construction and casting. With an emphasis on the negative space, the work is exploring the idea of a filtering passage for intangible substances such as light, air, vision, thoughts, time and space.
